Cesky Terrier

The Cesky Terrier, also known as the Bohemian Terrier, is a loyal breed that was developed by the Czechoslovakian geneticist, Dr. F. Horàk during the late 1940's by crossing Scottish Terriers and Sealyham Terriers. It was officially recognized in 1963 and is now becoming popular in the USA. It retains its true terrier instincts and is a good hunter of rats and mice.

Weight: 12 - 18 lbs (5.4 - 8 kg)

Coat Type: The Cesky Terrier sports a distinctive, silky coat, a fine thick beard, and heavy eyebrows; the coat is clipped on the body. Although pups are born black or liver with or without the tan color, as adults they are bluish gray or light brown with or without the cream markings.

Temperament: The Cesky Terrier is good-natured and obedient, but like most terriers, it is feisty, stubborn and fearless.

Special Interest: Although small in size, the Cesky Terrier makes a good little watchdog.
