Cirneco Dell'Etna

The Cirneco Dell'Etna, also known as the Sicilian Greyhound, dates back to antiquity from Italy, descending from the ancient Egyptian hounds, although smaller in size. The majority of these dogs are still found in Sicily where they were originally used as both sight and scent hounds. Today it is still used as a small game hound, being an efficient and keen hunter. This breed has been recently intorduced to the USA, and is seeking AKC recognition.

Height: 16 - 19" (40.6 - 48.3cm)

Weight: 18 - 26 lbs (8 - 11.6 kg)

Coat Type: The coat is very short, smooth and glossy. It needs minimal brushing.

Temperament: The Cirneco Dell'Etna needs plenty of exercise and space to run. This dog does not adapt easily to other dogs or to children, and requires time and patience in its training.
