Finnish Hound
The Finnish Hound, known as the Suomenajokoira in its native Finland, dates back to the 1700's. It is believed that their ancestry traces back to Russian, Swedish and Swiss hounds; and it shows a distinct similarity to the Swedish Hound (Hamiltonstövare) in particular. These scenthounds hunt hare and fox during the summer, and spend a relaxing time in the winter as a family companion. This rectangular dog is very strong yet nimble on its feet.
