Flat Coated Retriever

The Flat-coated Retriever is a bird dog developed in Great Britain during the 1800's. The Flat-coated Retriever actually gets most of its characteristics from two Canadian breeds, the Labrador and the Newfoundland.

Height: 23 - 24" (58.4 - 61cm)

Weight: 60 - 70 lbs (26.8 - 31.2 kg)

Coat Type: As its name suggests, the coat of this retriever lies close to its body. It is dense and fine-textured, with feathering on the legs and tail.

Temperament: The Flat-coated Retriever is attentive and friendly. It is good with children and the entire family; this dog will do well in most situations, but especially in the country. This dog enjoys training.
