Kuvasz
The Kuvasz (kawasz, Turkish for "guard of the noblemen") is an old Hungarian breed used for guarding flocks. It was specifically meant as a herd guard, as opposed to being a herding dog. It is said to be at least 7000 years old and made its way to Hungary from Tibet, via Turkey. In appearance it is similar to the Pyrenean Mountain Dog and the Maremma Sheepdog.

Weight: 80 - 110 lbs (35.7 - 49.1 kg)
Coat Type: The white coat is very dense, and wavy on body and legs. The coat needs a fair amount of regular brushing.
Temperament: The Kuvasz is a courageous dog with great intelligence. Because of its size and ancestral work, it needs early socialization and training. It does have a special affinity with children and will be quite protective; it forms a strong and devoted bond with its family.
