Kyi Leo
The Kyi Leo, (Kyi is dog in Tibetan, and Leo is lion in Latin), was developed in the United States in the 1950's. It traces its origin to the Lhasa Apso and the Maltese.
Height: The range is 8-12"(20-30 cm), with the preferred height being 11" (27.5 cm).
Weight: 9 - 14 lbs (4 - 6.2 kg)
Coat Type: The coat is very long, thick, and somewhat silky; therefore it requires frequent combing and brushing to avoid mats. It generally parts along the spine falling to both sides.
Temperament: The Kyi Leo, a companion dog, is affectionate, alert and active.
Special Interest: The Kyi Leo coat may take up to 3 or 4 years to grow to full length.
