Mudi
The Mudi, or Hungarian Mudi, came out of Hungary in the 1800's to guard flocks and to be a herder. However, its standard was only formalized in the 1930's. A versatile dog, the Mudi is also a good hunter and tracker, and is used as a search dog.
Height: 14 - 19" (35.6 - 48.3cm)
Weight: 18 - 29 lbs (8 - 12.9 kg)
Coat Type: The coat length on body is about two inches (5 cm), and is wavy or curly; on the head and legs, it is smooth. The absence of a corded coat makes caring for the Mudi easier than for its countryman the Puli.
Temperament: The Mudi is adaptable, friendly and playful. It can sometimes be noisy. It is lively, territorial, needs work, loves all activities. A good family dog that is easy to train.
Special Interest: The Mudi was unknown until the 19th century.
