Munsterlander small
The Münsterlander (Kleiner) or Small Munsterlander originated from the town of Münster in the Westphalian region in Germany and became better established in the late 1800's after having been in decline for many decades. It traces its ancestry to spaniels and possibly the German Longhaired Pointer. It was bred as an all-round sporting dog, working well as a tracker, pointer and retriever; it retrieves well both on land and in water. It is very similar the the Large Munsterlander except in colort and size.
Height: 20 - 22" (50.8 - 50.8cm) for dogs, 19 - 21" (48.3 - 48.3cm) for bitches
Weight: 32 lbs (14.3 kg)
Coat Type: The coat is smooth and dense, with feathering. The color is a dappled brown and white. Regular simple grooming is all that is required.
Temperament: This dog is a great companion, being not too larger and easy to train. It is a happy, loving and loyal dog. Remember though that as a sporting dog, it will require regular exercise in the way of running and/or swimming.
Health Problems: It is a generally healthy dog. Its life expectancy is in the range of 13-14 years.
