Polish Owczarek Nizinny

The Polish Owczarek Nizinny, also known as the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, dates back to the 1500's. This dog originated in Poland to herd sheep. It looks a little like a Bearded Collie, but it is smaller. Tails are usually docked.

Weight: 33 lbs (14.7 kg)

Coat Type: The coat is long, thick, shaggy, harsh and somewhat wavy. The coat can be of various colors.

Temperament: The Polish Owczarek Nizinny (the PON) is an active friendly dog.

Special Interest: After World War II, the Polish Owczarek Nizinny was saved from extinction by a Polish veterinarian who had two dogs and six bitches that survived the war.
