Hermon Dog Park

Dog Park Info: The only dog park located in North East Los Angeles.Park grounds are decomposed granite, which means no mud!Lots of beautiful horse trails and Arroyo walking paths.
Right at Via Marisol exit off the 110 Freeway.

Comments: this is a large (approx 4 acres) park with double gated entry. It is approximately half dirt and half grass. The nearest large intersection is 8th and Central. There is also a path that goes along the beach behind the dog park where you can walk your dog -NOTE - you cannot walk your dog on the beach itself.

Belmont
Cipriani Dog Park
Located at 2525 Buena Vista at Monserat, operated by the Belmont Bowser Club
Closes at 8:30pm; fenced, benches, tables, poopbags, trees, parking, lights, water, trashcans; really nice dogs and owners there, the Belmont Bowser Club has great social events like potlucks, adoption days and an annual fair.

Located adjacent to Benicia Community Park, off Community Park Drive, behind the far left parking lot. Dogpark is fully fenced.

Concord

The City of Concord maintains a .8 acre Dog Off Leash Exercise Area. It is
located in the Lime Ridge Open Space area. The site is rustic and composed
of quarry waste material. There is limited shade, several benches, fresh
water provided daily for dogs, and pooper scooper stations, not fenced. Take Treat
Boulevard to San Miguel Road to the Via Montanas entrance of Lime Ridge Open Space to the dog run.

Coronado
Coronado Central Beach
At the north end of the beach, along Ocean Avenue, is an off-leash area. Open year-round.

Costa Mesa

Comments: Cypress Dog Park is in the early stages of site selection. We are looking to other communities to get ideas for fund-raising. To date, we have over 400 residents on our mailing list and that number is growing daily. We hope to be up and running within the next 6 - 9 months (this update Sept '99).

Del Mar
Rivermouth Beach
Highway 101 at Border Avenue
This 'dog beach' is open for off-leash play from September 15 to June 15 (on-leash during summer tourist season) but hopes are to have it become off-leash year-round.

El Segundo
El Segundo Dog Park
600 E. Imperial Avenue; take Imperial Hwy, turning into Main Street and almost immediately turning left onto Imperial Avenue. Drive up the hill, past the car-wash, and the park is at the crest of the hill on the left.

comments= This is a great park, with trees and a view of LAX airport because the park is on a bluff, includes a large fenced area for small dogs and another for larger dogs, both double-gated.

Encinitas
Orpheus Park

Comments: Park has view of Pacific Ocean, has tot lot in center of park, no fencing on side street but some tubular fencing between park and residences (homes around the park); enforced by County Animal Control.

Viewpoint Park

Comments: fencing includes split rail at street entrance, also between dogs and plants on perimeter; chain link fence between park and surrounding residences, turf still in good shape after 3 years; multi-use park.

Encino

Runyon Canyon Park
Top of Fuller Avenue (the north end of Fuller - west of La Brea, north of Franklin Ave); open sunrise to sunset; fenced, benches, poopbags, trees, water source, trashcans. This is a great hiking dog park in the hollywood Hills. The former estate of Errol Flynn, it is very big and features a large hill, so it's good exercise for you and your dog, and the view of Los Angeles from the top is amazing! Thanks to the LA Parks & Rec, it's now an 'official' dogpark. Also features a fenced children's play area. NOTE: we have received wotd that this park is neither fenced nor an official off-leash park. Use at your own discretion.

Huntington Beach
Best Friend Dog Park
located next to Central Park on Edwards Street at Talbert. The Doggy Walk of Fame (856 paw prints embedded in concrete) is a favorite attraction. Open dawn to dusk. Amenities include fencing, benches, tables, handicap access, poopbags, trees, parking, restrooms, water and trashcans.

Dog Beac
Pacific Coast Highway between 21st Street and Seapoint Street
Hours: 5AM to 8PM every day of the year
Features: benches and tables on the bluffs above, handicap access to the sand, free dog wastebags, metered parking, restrooms, trash cans, dogs may be off leash in the water and on the wet sand.

Laguna Beach

Located at about the middle of Laguna Canyon Road (Rte 133) about two miles south of the 405 freeway, near several vet clinics and boarding kennels; grass, fenced, benches, picnic tables.

Larkspur

Located within Larkspur's Piper Park on Doherty Drive near Magnolia Avenue; open 365 days a year, fenced, water, benches.

Laguna Niguel

Follow Livermore Avenue to Mines Road, the Lake is 8 miles up the road. Parking fee. Park by the boat ramp and keep dog onleash until through the gate past the boatramp - this is the off-leash area. Be aware: active fishing area, so you may want to keep dogs on leash until out of fishing zone.
